Here are answers to common questions related to the hiring process of internal candidates. If you have additional questions not listed below, please contact the HR Service Center at 877-YOUR-PNC (968-7762), option 4, or send an email to pncpathfinder@pnc.com.
Do I need an updated resume to apply for a position?
The first time that you submit your interest for a position at PNC, you will be asked to create a career profile in Workday that includes a resume and other information. Workday will allow you to upload a resume so that your information populates in various Career Profile fields, which means you won’t have to manually enter your work history. To upload a resume, you’ll see “Upload My Experience” in the “Overview” section of your Career Profile then you’ll click “Upload” to find and upload your resume. Once you’ve added or uploaded your career experience into your Career Profile, you will be able to use your Workday Career Profile when applying for positions at PNC.
I’m not sure if I’m right for the job. Should I still apply?
To best position yourself for success, be honest and objective when assessing your skills. If your resume cannot demonstrate that you are well-suited for the job, consider other positions instead. To better understand your current skills and competencies, please use the following resources:
- Know Yourself at Work Worksheet – The Know Yourself at Work Worksheet is designed to help you capture your strengths and preferences, which can inform the next step in your career journey at PNC.
- Competency Assessment – Completing your Competency Assessment in Workday will allow you and your manager to evaluate your competencies in your current role. Once that has been done, you can compare your current competencies against the competencies needed to be successful in other roles that may be of interest.
- Transferable Skills Workshop – If you’re not sure what roles your skills and experience may be best suited for, consider viewing the Internal Placement Recruiting (IPR) Career Readiness Workshop, Transferable Skills. This training will assist you in better understanding how to identify your personal and professional and apply them to your next role. Or, contact a Career Advisor to receive one-on-one consultation.
